GreaterGood South Africa is a public service organisation connecting givers with good causes and activating the public to give responsibly. We do this with an innovative platform for givers and causes to connect online, offer resources and support for civil society organisations, and public call-to-action campaigns.

The Greater Houston Community Foundation began operations in 1995 and ended 2008 with over $230 million in assets in more than 600 funds. In 2008 our donors made grants totaling $68.5 million to a variety of nonprofits. The Community Foundation offers many easy ways to help you make a significant impact with your giving. By partnering with GHCF, donors gain the simplicity and optimal tax benefits of giving to a public charity combined with the recognition, involvement and flexibility of giving through a private foundation. The seven founders of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation passed a hat in 1978, collecting $200 and some change. The Community Foundation was thus begun with an extraordinary idea: Charitable giving should be the responsibility of many, not just a select few. Driven to improve the metropolitan area, the Community Foundation has grown to become one of the largest and most entrepreneurial public charities of its kind. The Los Angeles Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles. From its opening in 1966 until 1997, the Zoo operated as a division of the City's Recreation and Parks Department. On July 1, 1997, the Zoo became its own city department, with a clearer and direct voice to the City Council and more direct control over its operations. The Mayor of the City of Los Angeles is Antonio R. Villaraigosa who began his first term on July 1, 2005. Located within the 4th City Council District, the Zoo is represented by Councilman Tom LaBonge. Since June, 2003, John Lewis has served as General Manager and Zoo Director. Mr. Lewis served as director of the John Ball Zoological Garden in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1986 until his appointment to the Los Angeles Zoo. Lewis has also served as president of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Board of Directors from 2001 to 2002.

Since the Greater Milwaukee Foundation began in 1915, we've been guided by three tenets − helping donors create personal legacies of giving that last beyond their lifetimes; investing donor funds for maximum return with minimum risk; and playing a leadership role tackling the community's most challenging needs. These guiding principles continue to serve the Foundation, our donors, and the community well. Over the years, nearly 1,000 individuals and families in the metropolitan Milwaukee area have started funds at the Foundation. Our philosophy shapes finely tuned financial practices that allow our investment returns to outperform both the S&P 500 and the Morningstar Balanced Mutual Index Fund over the past seven years. And through our leadership, we have helped develop and nurture projects such as the Mequon Nature Preserve, the Urban Education Fellows Program and Sponsor-A-Scholar.

GRECALTES (Greater Calcutta Leprosy Treatment & Health Education Scheme) is a Non Governmental Organization which is rendering health services to leprosy and Tuberculosis (TB) patient since 1975. It is credited in pioneering urban control of Leprosy in an organized manner in Calcutta. The seed of GRECALTES has been sown in mid forties when Dr D.S.Chaudhury got an offer from Late Hermann Kober in the International Leprosy Congress in London and eventually the GRECALTES came into existence in the year 1975 under the leadership of Dr D. S. Chaudhury with the financial assistance from ‘German Leprosy Relief Association’. Having a success track of controlling Leprosy in the select local community, Dr D.S.Chaudhury took the challenge to eradicate leprosy from Kolkata metropolitan area. He has got the unconditional support and encouragement in this endeavor from the then Director of Health services, Government of West Bengal – Dr K.C. Basu Mallick. GRECALTES not just a Organization, it’s a mission…. All our members have an aim, to make a Leprosy free, TB free & HIV free environment. We already cover a 35 years journey (1975-212).

For over 50 years GAWF has been addressing animal welfare problems in Greece, bringing hope to countless animals, work that continues to this day. We work within Greece to find practical solutions to the animal welfare problems there, helping to provide not only care and treatment but also education and training. Real progress has been made, and the shift in attitudes heralds the dawn of a more compassionate era for the animals of Greece. Where possible we try to find practical solutions to Greek animal welfare problems, we liaise with the Greek veterinary community and teach animal welfare to people of all ages - with a specific focus on young people.

We understand political decision-making and have helped to change policy bringing climate change and environmental issues into the mainstream. Our activities include research, advocacy and convening high-profile events with senior politicians and key influencers.

The Green Belt Movement is one of the most prominent women’s civil society organizations, based in Kenya, advocating for human rights and supporting good governance and peaceful democratic change through the protection of the environment. By protecting the environment, these women are also becoming powerful champions for sustainable management of scarce resources such as water, equitable economic development, good political governance, and ultimately peace.

Our news analyses are read by more than 50 000 people every month, including government, business, the media, NGOs, academics and the general public. The service has been published by African Health & Development Organisation since 2002, and is widely respected in the environmental and media sectors. Our analyses and articles are written by a number of experienced researchers and writers who work on a volunteer basis.

Green Communities has created the "Best Practice" models within national and local Integrated Development Plans, focusing primarily on job creation, the alleviation of crime and poverty and the health and well being of our indigent communities through greening interventions. We have done this through our social change management methodologies which require full community participation and our aim is to stimulate, grow and sustain these settlements into integrated, coordinated and holistic communities. Of prime importance to Green Communities is the alleviation of poverty and the creation of greater opportunities for community members through urban agriculture, open space development, water and waste management and sustainable livelihoods’ projects.

Green Cross Switzerland facilitates overcoming consequential damages caused by industrial and military disasters and the clean-up of contaminated sites from the period of the Cold War. Central issues are the improvement of the living quality of people affected by chemical, radioactive and other types of contamination, as well as the promotion of a sustainable development in the spirit of co-operation instead of confrontation. We facilitate the disarmament of chemical and conventional weapons through the operation of public outreach and information offices, mediation and confidence-building measures. The consequences of the military use of nuclear materials on the environment and health are examined. Pilot projects exemplify possibilities for the clean-up and conversion of military bases. We implement medical and social projects for children, young people and mothers. Therapy camps as well as training and nutrition programmes contribute towards improving the living situation of the population in contaminated areas.

Green Destiny serves the community in preserving environmental health, monitoring and conservation of water and sanitation. It strives to attain its objective through intensive field research supported by secondary data. The research data collected is used to empower the citizen and the affected communities to fight against the different types of pollution. The ultimate goal is to empower the community right to know the different chemicals entering into the food chain from various sources of the Environment, and general improvement of environment & health of inhabitants, allocation of resources and balance in the eco-system.

Green Dot Public Schools is the leading public schools operator in Los Angeles and an important catlyst for education reform, locally and nationally. Green Dot's work is directly focused on influencing Los Angeles Unified School Distric (LAUSD) to transform its failing high schools and helping the district reinvent itself as one of the best school districts in the country. Green Dot has already opened twelve successful charter high schools in some of the highest need areas of Los Angeles; in doing so it has demonstrated that public schools can do a far better job of educating students if schools are operated more effectively.

The Green Mountain Club (GMC) primarily cares for the Long Trail. Additionally, GMC's advocacy and education efforts also safeguard Vermont's many other hiking trails. GMC volunteers and staff teach low-impact practices and safety skills that outdoor enthusiasts use whenever they hit the backwoods. Through its land protection program in northern Vermont, the Club has protected more than fifty-five miles of the Long Trail System and 16,000 acres of backcountry land.

Our purpose is to inform South African Citizens on how we can use less energy, recycle and save some money in the process. What we suggest will make a huge difference in the amount of power that is used in the country, and it will ease the pressure on Eskom and the amount of energy they have to produce and supply to us. In turn we will have less or almost no power outages in the future. You will also help to reduce CO2 emotions into the atmosphere that causes Global Warming. We must start to think green and independent. We must not rely on the National Grid for all our power needs, but start converting to Green Energy sources so we can carry on with our daily tasks, without to much inconvenience, when the power do go out.

We work exclusively with indigenous grass roots conservation organisations and support their work through funding, materials, equipment and advice. The Greenheart Trust relies on contributions from those who care about protecting this vital part of the Amazon and Essequibo eco-systems.

We have been campaigning against environmental degradation since 1971 , when a small boat of volunteers and journalists sailed into Amchitka, an area north of Alaska, where the US government was conducting underground nuclear tests. This tradition of 'bearing witness' in a non-violent manner continues today.

In 1971, motivated by their vision of a GREEN and PEACEful world, a small team of activists set sail from Vancouver, Canada, in an old fishing boat known as the Phyllis Cormack. Today, Greenpeace is a global organisation that prioritises campaigns that can be addressed on a global scale. Based in Amsterdam, Greenpeace has 2.65 million financial supporters worldwide, and national/regional offices in 41 countries. Greenpeace campaigns for sustainable fishing and to protect the ocean’s biodiversity, and works with local communities to oppose illegal and destructive logging and to develop eco-forestry projects in the Solomons and PNG. Greenpeace has also worked in the Pacific to eliminate toxic pollution and to prevent harmful climate change.
