The mission of the American-Italian Cancer Foundation is to support cancer research, education, and early detection, emphasizing the unique resources of Italy and the United States, recognizing world-class scientific excellence in medicine, and serving the medically underserved.

During the past year the Board of Directors has re-focused the American-Italian Cancer Foundation's (AICF) efforts to address cancer's complex challenges, under the guidance of our world-class Scientific Advisory Board. As a result, AICF is launching a Pancreatic Cancer Research Initiative to foster innovative research and stimulate international collaboration between the United States, Italy, and other parts of Europe. We have renewed our longstanding commitment to supporting post-doctoral research fellowships for promising young scientists. In addition, the Prize for Scientific Excellence in Medicine will continue to reward outstanding cancer researchers who have substantially improved the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors by bringing what they have learned in the laboratory into the clinical setting.
