The foundation Världsnaturfonden WWF was founded in 1971 with the purpose of contributing financially to the international operations of WWF as well as setting aside funds for Swedish research, education and practical nature conservation work. The majority of WWF Sweden's current conservation work is managed internally by the organization. The focus for the foundation climate work is to see that Sweden becomes a world leader of climate-smart energy solutions which can then be exported to rapidly developing nations like China and India.
