Rescue, redress, rehabilitation through empowerment and self reliance generated by awareness and achievement made possible by legal assistance and capacity building in co-ordination with competent authorities and networking with specialized agencies.

Jan Vikas Society (JVS) is a charitable trust who's pioneering work commenced in 1996. JVS is the first organization that committed itself to the care and development of street-children and rag pickers in Navi Mumbai. From its small beginning in Koparkhairane the trust has with the help of various supporters purchased a plot of land which became Mermier Bal Ashram. Since the demand for homes like this grew it was found necessary to open Florin Bal Ashram situated in Taloja. The rehabilitation centers are not the only solution. The children needing help and support are of different nature and with different visions and attitudes. In order to help them, six day care centers have been opened in different areas of Navi Mumbai and Mumbai. The children can spend the day in these centers, availing the services offered.
