Himalayan Learning is a small charity working in Nepal that prides itself on using its grassroots background to deliver cheap and effective development. Education is vitally important as a tool to help people deal with both the effects of poverty and to work for themselves toward a better life.
We to support girls and women to break out of the cycle of poverty and the related gender discrimination. As an educational charity, our first step is always to give communities access to school and to the benefits of education, but providing facilities is not enough - we also widen the types of people that have access to that education particularly in regards to women, ethnic minorities, and the disabled.
