To promote small, human scale learning communities within the state maintained and independent sectors of education.

HSE aims to put its values and educational practices at the heart of mainstream education. To achieve this HSE intends to build on the achievements of the Human Scale Schools Network and extend its work to a significantly larger number of schools. It also want to develop the evidence-base for Human Scale Education and thereby raise the profile and influence of its work so that Human Scale Education eventually becomes the norm rather than the exception.
