The Abilities Centre will be a world class recreation, athletic and performing arts facility fully accessible to all persons with a varying degree of abilities and challenges. Situated in the heart of the Central Eastern Lake Ontario Region, the Abilities Centre will be an international leader in helping people of all ages focus on their abilities and enhance their confidence and independence through state-of-the art opportunities. The Abilities Centre will facilitate total barrier free access to active living in the nation's largest municipal sports complex. Unlike other rehabilitation focused facilities, the Abilities Centre will create a unique learning, training, rehabilitation and recreation centre in the heart of the country.

Abilities United (formerly C-A-R, Inc.) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization for children and adults with developmental disabilities (intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, autism, and other neurodevelopmental conditions causing developmental delays) who live in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. Each year, our nine services are used by over 2,500 people and their families.

The Ability Society, a community-based nonprofit agency since 1979, provides a range of services, from information requests, skill and needs assessments to assistive device recommendations. With practical assistance, we can open the door to a world of opportunity, enhancing the quality of life for many persons with special needs and their families. We started as a program founded in 1979 by parents of children with cerebral palsy. The program was housed at the Alberta Children's Hospital and provided information and education involving assistive technology to children with special needs and their families. They quickly realized that they had the capability of assisting adults with special needs as well.

Services are provided for children, teenagers and adults. It is the objective of our services to develop the potential of each person they serve. We recognise that each person has the same rights and needs as other members of the community and strives to ensure that all individuals participate in their local community. St. Joseph's Training Centre returned to Snipe Avenue, Newcastle, Galway City in 2003 to its new purpose built centre. It provides a comprehensive rehabilitative training programme for young adults over the age of 18 years who have a learning disability. The programme usually runs for four years but can be shorter depending on the needs of the trainees. There are twelve centres throughout the city and county, including Employment Centres and Adult Day Services. Each day service provides opportunities for a range of employment, training, leisure and social experiences.

AbilityNet is a national charity helping disabled adults and children use computers and the internet by adapting and adjusting their technology. Our special expertise is ensuring that whatever your age, health condition, disability or situation you find exactly the right way to adapt or adjust your ICT to make it easier to use. We are developing a code of best practice and a Standard of Accessibility, we will be working with tutors to enable identification of improvements to content to both web and printed materials for students within Primary, Secondary and Higher Education provision and Public Access Centres.

The charity explores new methods to tackle mental health needs of today’s communities, identified by social research. We consider Family Services UK to be a new vision for the future to help people with social issues, integration difficulties, family/parenting issues and isolation. We offer psychological therapies/counselling, psychological educational programmes, parent mentoring group clinics and intervention methods to help individuals and families in crisis situations. Our service supports parents with parenting challenges aimed to improve parent child relations. Services are to develop skill, psychological growth, purpose in life and creative thoughts to overcome those challengers that cause mental health difficulties.

In the mid 1800’s, the hey day of Abney Park as a garden cemetery, it was described as ‘the most ornamental garden cemetery in the vicinity of London’. It also became the principal place of memorial for prominent London dissenters. The fortunes of the park as a garden cemetery began to decline after the First World War, but until this date a galaxy of people, ranging from popular Music Hall stars to the founders of the Salvation Army (William and Catherine Booth) chose to be buried here. Music Hall and variety artistes commemorated at Abney Park include Albert Chavalier and George Leybourne. Chartists include James Bronterre O’Brien, Henry Vincent and Benjamin Lucraft. Prominent nonconformists (ministers, missionaries authors and abolitionists), include Dr Newman Hall, Dr John Pye Smith, Dr Andrew Reed, Dr Thomas Binney, William Brock, James Sherman, Emily Gosse, Thomas Burchell and Samuel Oughton. Notable horticulturists include James Shirley Hibberd and Conrad Loddiges. Educational philanthropists include Sir Hugh Owen and Samuel Morley. Joanna Vassa, daughter of the famous black author and abolitionist Olaudah Equiano,is also buried here; as is the black author and playwright Eric Walrond. In recent decades the wooded memorial estate has been designated an Historic Park and Garden, and became Hackney’s first Local Nature Reserve. The grounds are rich in birdlife, providing habitat for breeding populations of Green Woodpeckers, Tawny Owls, Firecrests, Bullfinches and Nuthatch in a green oasis of woodland trees, flowering plants and fungi; and the dappled glades support the largest breeding population of Speckled Wood butterflies this close to the centre of London.

We offer eleven housing programs linked to support services to assist homeless families and individuals in establishing stability and independence. Housing options include emergency shelter programs, rental subsidies, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing. Support services consist of intensive case management, job counseling and placement referrals, life skills training, money management, parenting classes, children's programs, benefits acquisition, primary and mental health care services, and individual and group substance recovery counseling.

As a result of institutional abuses suffered in the past, Aboriginal people today suffer from the many effects of unresolved trauma like lateral violence, depression, poverty, alcoholism, lack of parenting skills, lack of capacity to build and sustain healthy families and communities. Our vision is of a future when these effects have been meaningfully resolved and Aboriginal people have restored their wellbeing for themselves and for their descendants seven generations ahead. The Aboriginal Healing Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of Aboriginal people from across The Members are appointed by Aboriginal political organizations, the federal government of Canada, and Aboriginal people at-large. The Board establish policy and give direction to staff. The Foundation is accountable through its Funding Agreement with Canada and through its By-law. Guided by these arrangements, the Aboriginal Healing Foundation has committed its resources according to clear and transparent funding criteria established in consultation with Aboriginal people.

Abortion Rights is the national pro-choice campaign. We are campaigning to defend and extend women's rights and access to safe, legal abortion. We oppose any attack on the 1967 Abortion Act including any attempt to lower the abortion time limit. 40 years after the introduction of safe, legal abortion in Britain women's rights should be advanced not driven back. A consistent three quarters of people support a woman's right to choose in Britain. We believe the law should be brought into line with public opinion - so that women can make their own reproductive decisions without the current unfair legal barriers, obstructions and delays.

For 25 years, we have aided individuals with a facial disfigurement to experience personal enrichment and growth. Founded in 1985, AboutFace has since grown to be a widely respected organization serving affected individuals at every life stage. AboutFace Programs and Services revolve around our vision to Educate, Encourage and Empower individuals, with all three aspects working in unison to provide a balanced approach for our global membership. Since its beginning, AboutFace has helped parents, children, youth, adults and the community. Other AboutFace supports are health care professionals, educators, corporations and the general public.

Above & Beyond Charities is the charity for all nine hospitals within University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. The Charity funds projects which touch the lives of the thousands of people cared for by the Hospitals and their local community services each year.We improve the environment for patients and staff and we further medical knowledge through research. We also support staff development and training and we fund equipment that makes a real difference to patient care. With eight hospitals in the centre and south of Bristol, we are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and the major teaching and research centre for the South West of England. We provide general medical and emergency services to the local population of Central and South Bristol, and a broad range of specialist services across a region that extends from Cornwall to Gloucestershire, into South Wales and beyond.

The Abraham Joshua Heschel School is an independent school named in memory of one of the great Jewish leaders, teachers, and activists of the 20th century. Its creation was spearheaded by founder Peter Geffen in 1981. Together with educators and lay people from a broad spectrum of the Jewish community, they worked to project a vision for a pluralistic Jewish school. The school opened its doors to twenty-eight students with the commitment to offer a first-rate education in a diverse, pluralistic, Jewish environment. Today, with more than 800 students in nursery through grade twelve, and spanning three buildings, The Heschel School continues to be nationally renowned for the values and ethics upon which it was established.

Abraham Kriel Childcare was started in 1902 by Reverend Abraham Kriel, who was taking care of seven children who had lost their parents during the Anglo-Boer War. The organization has since grown to offer services that go beyond residential care for needy children. Over the last century, Abraham Kriel Childcare has seen its services grow to provide care and support to over 700 children at any one time. Its services now include residential care, home-based care for children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, and early childhood development for children in the resource limited area of Yeoville / Observatory in Johannesburg, South Africa. Services provided by the home-based care programme benefit specifically the communities of Soweto and Westbury south west and west of Johannesburg respectively.

Absolute Leadership Development, founded in 2000, is a federally incorporated charity. From taking hundreds of students to engage in humanitarian relief work to presenting a message of hope to hundreds of thousands, each year Absolute continues to empower a generation to live with purpose - and to change their world. We believe that youth are the key to affecting social change on a national level and the most efficient avenue to reaching an entire generation is the education system. Our teams of trained young adults travel all across Canada, and internationally, bringing our Think Day program to schools. After students see an Absolute presentation, they often need someone to talk to. Absolute has set up an email chat service, which is staffed by qualified volunteers. Thousands of students utilize this service and get help. We also take large numbers of students to developing nations to participate in humanitarian efforts.

ARK is an international charity, whose purpose is to transform children’s lives. ARK has developed a strong results-driven model to identify, create and deliver innovative programmes that are transformative, scalable and sustainable. Programmes are based on demonstrable evidence showing need, high impact, quality of execution and measurable outcomes. ARK is closing detrimental institutions across Eastern Europe, moving children into family focused environments and preventing more children from entering institutional care, while developing a range of alternative care systems to ensure the best care for each child. ARK works to prevent children being abandoned in order to halt the inflow of children into institutions.

Since its inception, ABWE has used healthcare ministry as a way of taking the gospel and the love of God to people around the world. Our ministry goal is to see people come to know Christ as Savior, help them join together to form local churches, and to aid these local churches as they develop church planting and missions movements. ABWE partners with the African Fundamental Baptist Mission in Liberia offering short-term medical ministry trips to provide care for the ill and opportunities to teach clinic staff and assist them in planning for their long-term outreach in healthcare ministry. ABWE is continuously considering other partnerships in different places with different kinds of ministry as well. The ABWE Project Office provides volunteers with a life-changing opportunity to serve God either short or long term on our projects.

Acacia Water "for solutions in groundwater" was established in 2003 at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences). Acacia Water focuses on groundwater in relation to surface water, environment and infrastructure. This varies from implementation of field measurements and model calculations, to giving training and strategic advice. Acacia distinguishes itself by the cooperation with the University, as a result of which Acacia Water has access to the latest scientific developments in the field of hydrology and environment. We translate this knowledge to innovative and practical solutions.

The purpose of AHED is to support developing countries develop and expand institutions of higher education by sending volunteers to work on projects in those institutions and in ministries of higher education. AHED is involved in projects in the full range of post-secondary institutions, including universities, colleges, and business, engineering, normal, medical and nursing schools. Volunteers are recruited from working and retired professionals and skilled workers throughout Canada and other medium and high income countries. These include faculty, staff, and administrators from universities and colleges, as well as non–academic professionals. AHED assists in capacity building in higher education in the developing world, responding to the needs and goals of the host countries and institutions. It supports projects related to both academic and non-academic aspects of the development of tertiary education. This includes assisting in the development of new universities and colleges, and, in existing institutions, in establishing new departments, faculties, or research institutes and expanding and diversifying undergraduate and graduate programs.
