The House of Grace

The House of Grace is a home for pregnant teens, providing support and education up to and after the birth of their baby. As well as providing accommodation we have a number of programmes that help residents develop the skills they need to parent confidently and have healthy, well-cared-for newborn babies. We continue to support the residents even after they have given birth. Mum and baby can stay at The House of Grace for up to three months to ensure good feeding patterns and routines are developed.

We identify the causes of joint destruction in arthritis and to develop surgical and medical treatments which will restore joint structure and function. We understand the pathophysiology of bone, cartilage and tendon failure in musculoskeletal disorders and devise new approaches for their repair and regeneration. We identify the factors (inherited, occupational, hormonal, etc.) which contribute to the morbidity of bone and joint disease in the Australian community. Apart from supporting research activities in the above areas, the Institute also disseminates recent advances in our understanding of the musculoskeletal sciences by organising regular public seminars and scientific symposia at which leading specialists present their latest research findings.

"The International Montessori School" has come a long way since it was established back in 1983. Originally founded as by Merrill Harrison graduate with Montessori Distinction, from the Montessori Center International, London, UK and she has grown and expanded beyond anyone's expectations in the last 26 years. We are very proud of the progress we have made and the things we have accomplished in that relatively short time. For instance, we now offer 3 Classrooms ages from 2 to 6 ; we have graduated more than 8’000 children; and, on average, our newly graduated students have excelled in many areas and have today the best incomes. They all remember our school as the happiest in their life. We would like to continue this pursuit of excellence by becoming a Montessori School 2010. To do so, we have been working closely with bankers, multi-national companies and with other institutions. By becoming a larger Montessori School, we will be able to offer an even better educational experience to our students. And the larger community will benefit as well, as they will be able to take more classes for continuing education and will have the opportunity enjoy more facilities. In order to achieve this objective, we are hoping for the generous financial support of the greater community.

The Roots & Shoots environmental and humanitarian education program was launched in Canada in 1993 to empower youth to engage in their community to learn about and solve problems affecting humans, animals and the environment. Through the Chimp Guardian program, Canadians can do their part in saving critically endangered wild chimpanzees from extinction by sponsoring the care of an orphan chimpanzee at one of the Jane Goodall Institute's chimpanzee sanctuaries in Africa.

Jeremy died of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and from the incredibly active, outgoing and successful person he was, he lost his ability to walk, remember, eat, co-ordinate, speak and do those things that we all take for granted. The JWCT helps young athletes from the UK and developing countries realise their ambitions, young geologists and others to carry out independent ground-breaking expeditions and research, young people or groups with disabilities to participate in sporting and/or adventurous activities in the UK and overseas and it helps practical projects to conserve and improve access to mountain and ocean environments in the UK and overseas. The JWCT provides annual awards and individual grants to the causes mentioned above.
