Our Community First Responder volunteers are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives. We provide a range of patient transport services, transferring patients to a wide range of non-emergency medical appointments such as admissions to and discharge from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other medical facilities.

The Sisters are assisted by a qualified and committed staff that includes child care workers and maternity program staff, which account for a majority of the positions, as well as physicians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers; teachers, child care specialists, and therapists. From its very beginnings, St. Ann's opened its doors to the poor of all races and faiths, a commitment that continues to this day. St. Ann's participates in federally-funded programs. No person will be discriminated against on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, age or handicap.
St. Baldrick's Foundation
Research/Dev
What began as a challenge between friends has grown into the world's fastest growing volunteer-driven fundraising opportunity benefiting childhood cancer research. The Foundation now funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Since 2000, events have taken place in 28 countries and 50 US states, raising over $87 million. At a St. Baldrick's event, something amazing happens. People who normally shy away from the very thought of childhood cancer find themselves compelled to support this cause after looking into the face of these brave children who are beaming as their friends and family members proudly display their newly shorn heads. Volunteers and donors see it can be fun to support a serious cause. Young cancer patients and survivors see how many people care. And researchers see St. Baldrick's funds helping to find cures!
St. Bernard's School
Children/Education
St. Bernard's offers able young boys of diverse backgrounds an exceptionally thorough, rigorous, and enjoyable introduction to learning and community life. We wish to inspire boys to value hard work and fair play, to develop confidence, consideration for others, and a sense of citizenship, and to have fun while doing these things. It is important both to challenge boys and to show them great affection. Young boys enjoy many benefits from an elementary school designed just for them. A regard for the beauty and power of English - in reading, writing, speaking, listening - and the confident manipulation of numbers, both delightful in themselves, are indispensable for future success. Learning how to learn is of great importance, and mastering a traditional body of knowledge is also fundamental.

For example, many of our services target older persons who suffer greatly from poor health, poverty and extreme isolation. The Trust owns a large community centre which provides the space for these services, and is on the cusp of starting a multi-million pound re-development project to improve and expand the building. Once completed, the new Centre will equip the charity to offer an even better local resource, attract the wider community, host more local services, and put us on a stronger financial base from which to serve the local community for another 450 years.
