Our work improves health and supports the local agriculture and economies in southern and eastern Africa. We believe that access to clean water is a fundamental human right, it not only has a massive impact on health but also on education and agricultural production. Clean water means that children can go to school and communities can farm and sell their own produce, generating their own income. With the help of our innovative, cost effective and community-centred technology we establish sustainable supplies of clean water and safer sanitation provisions. Pump Aid campaigns to raise awareness about the global water and sanitation crisis and to bring about change in these areas. We want the world to know about the extent of the water and sanitation crisis and we work tirelessly to champion these fundamental human rights and lobby to make a lasting impact. Our campaigns focus on both prevention and cure and their fundraising and political elements are equally important.

Puppies Behind Bars

Based in USA United States
Animals/Wildlife

Dr. Thomas Lane, a veterinarian in Florida, thought that prison inmates would make excellent puppy raisers, and started the first guide-dog/prison program. Not only do inmates have unlimited time to spend with the puppies, but they benefit from the responsibility of being puppy raisers in ways that are especially important to their rehabilitation: they learn patience, what it is like to be completely responsible for a living being, how to give and receive unconditional love. PBB strives to meet the current needs of the communities in which we work and has expanded its goals accordingly. To help meet this demand, PBB added the training of explosive detection canines (EDCs) to its program.
