Opportunities for the Disabled
Disability
Established in 1996, Opportunities for the Disabled or O.F.T.D. is a Canadian based registered charitable non-profit organization. We believe it is our social, ethical, and moral responsibility to assist our elderly, veterans, and all physically challenged individuals in our local communities. We offer in conjunction with our public awareness program our recycling programs of special needs medical and computer equipment, and the distribution of our disability resource guides. Our community supported programs address the critical issues of mobility, and the special needs that physically challenged individuals have, needs that are sometimes not readily available.

Orari River Protection Group
Environment
One of the threats to the river is a proposed dam for an irrigation scheme. This will destroy the natural character of the river. We want to protect the environmental and cultural integrity of the Orari River, and retain the gorge, both in their free-flowing state. We want to maintain public access to the Orari River as an educational and recreational resource, and we advocate for greater protection of the river and catchment in District and Regional plans.

Rather than delivering short-term emergency assistance, ORBIS is dedicated to building up the long-term capabilities of local eye care institutions. ORBIS works with local and national governments, as well as private sector, community-based and nongovernmental organizations, to help its partners reach a state where they can provide, on their own, quality eye care services that are affordable, accessible and sustainable.

The $46 million center opened to the public on January 1, 1985, Sally had contributed $7.5 million–and her family had matched that amount. Certainly, Sally's vision is alive today in Ordway Center's dizzying schedule of theater, dance, music, family events, and educational programs.
Oregon Health & Science University Foundation

OHSU has designated two independent nonprofit foundations – the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation and Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation. The foundations exist to secure private philanthropic support for OHSU, and to invest and manage gifts responsibly in accordance with donors' wishes. Each year tens of thousands of donors contribute millions of dollars in financial support to OHSU through these organizations. The foundations also oversee the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who participate in community-based fund-raising programs and events supporting OHSU. This broad range of support places OHSU among Oregon's top beneficiaries of private philanthropy. And it makes the OHSU Foundation, with more than $419 million in assets, the largest public university foundation in Oregon – and among the top higher education funds in America.
