Community/Family

We are a non-profit organisation that works with underprivileged communities in Mumbai. Our areas of focus are education, health, generating livelihoods and awareness-building. We work to empower the most disadvantaged communities in Mumbai through holistic education and health projects by which they can become self-sufficient, and gain access to their basic human rights. To make our work systematic and efficient, we have adopted a ‘project cycle management’ approach: a sequence of actions to develop, implement and evaluate projects. The aim of project cycle management is to improve the management of projects by ensuring that all relevant issues and conditions are taken into account during design and implementation.

Music for HOPE is a non-profit charity founded in 1994 by Michael Jones with the mission of Making the world a better place through Music. We currently have 2 active chapters operating in Las Vegas, NV and Charlottesville VA. We collect new or used musical instruments from the community, refurbish them as needed and distribute them to struggling school music programs or directly to youth who would otherwise not have access to instruments or music programs. We know that involvement with music from an early age positively impacts youth with lasting social, academic, and confidence boosting effects. Research consistently shows that playing music can significantly improve a child's learning, memory, and social abilities. Greater society also benefits from creating more music opportunities for at-risk youth.
